Vancouver Whitecaps Pre-Prospects Program
Selection Process and Key Dates
Players are scouted at the NLSA Tournament in September 2022 and the U12 tryouts in September 2022.
NLSA appointed coaches are asked to observe and grade the players as follows:
- Pre-Prospects and Provincial Team player
- Provincial Team player only
- Approaching the standard
October 5, 2022
- Selection Committee meet to review feedback from coaching staff
- 22 to 24 players from each gender are selected
October 7, 2022
- All players are notified of their status with one of the following three responses
- An invitation to be a player in the Pre-Prospects Program and the Provincial Program
- An Invitation to a player in the Provincial Program
- Thank you for attending you are still approaching the standard
- acceptance letter to be returned by October 14th
October 19, 2022
- Players selected for the Pre-Prospect Program to attend a Zoom orientation meeting
November 1st, 2022
First payment to be completed
Monday, November 7, 2022 to until Monday, December 19, 2022
Program start date and end date prior to Christmas Break
Monday, January 9, 2023 to Monday, April 24, 2023
Program restarts after Christmas break and ends
