The Newfoundland and Labrador Soccer Association (NLSA) is exploring how it can improve its policies, practices, and soccer programs. The NLSA is developing an action plan that seeks to create more respectful and welcoming environments for NLSA staff, board members, and Associations, and develop NLSA programs meet the needs of participants from different communities. External consulting group, INclusion INcorporated, were contracted to complete this project.
The NLSA is committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive soccer community and is working toward ensuring that NLSA programs and environments are fair and accessible.
We have already deployed a Community Questionnaire, which closed on June 30, 2025. Thank you to those of you who completed it! As our next step in this project, INclusion INcorporated will be facilitating a series of virtual discussion groups to help us understand unique experiences and barriers to accessing soccer in the province. Information collected through the discussion groups will be used to help inform the development of an Inclusion Action Plan for the NLSA.
For all the groups, participants must be at least 18 years of age and there are a limited number of spots available. Please note that individuals may only register for one group, and parents/guardians may not
participate on behalf of their child. We want individuals to be able to speak about their own experiences.
Your participation in a discussion group is completely voluntary. While you are encouraged to participate, you are not required to do so. Information you share in a discussion group will remain confidential. Eligibility for discussion groups is included in the registration form.
If you have any questions about the discussion groups, please contact info@nlsa.ca
