The Newfoundland and Labrador Soccer Association (NLSA) is pleased to announce the Players of the Month for June.
This monthly recognition celebrates athletes who have demonstrated exceptional skill, dedication, and sportsmanship. Each selected player has made a significant impact on their team’s performance through consistent effort, leadership, and a commitment to excellence.

Carson Mercer, the current top scorer in the BU12 Championship League, has established himself as a dynamic force on the pitch. Renowned for his speed, precise passing, and energy, Carson is not only a prolific goal scorer but also a dedicated team player with exceptional spirit.

Georgia Cavanagh, FAA
Georgia Cavanagh had an outstanding month in June, scoring an incredible 17 goals. Beyond her remarkable goal-scoring ability, Georgia is a consistent and positive leader on the pitch, always leading by example through her hard work, dedication, and passion for the game. Her playmaking, vision, and precise passing combined with her relentless drive to improve make her a standout player.

Tytan Lush, SJSC
Tytan had an impressive month of June, scoring nine goals while demonstrating leadership through his composed gameplay and calm demeanor. A true team player, Tytan consistently makes unselfish decisions on the field, always prioritizing the success of the team over individual accolades. His strong sense of sportsmanship and respect for opponents, both on and off the field, further highlight his character and make him a valued leader within his team.

Neko Williams, FAA
Neko is a highly skilled player with exceptional ball control, composure, and technical ability that make her a standout on the field. Her leadership is evident, as teammates consistently look to her for guidance and support. Neko plays a crucial role in helping her team execute effective game plans, consistently influencing both the flow and outcome of matches. Neko scored an impressive 10 goals.

Rudy George, CBUSC
Rudy exemplified leadership as he led Corner Brook United Soccer Club with determination and heart, scoring five goals throughout the month. His standout performances came against a tough Mount Pearl side, netting three goals in the first match and adding another in a 3-3 draw the following day. Rudy’s relentless work ethic and unwavering commitment both on and off the pitch were instrumental and perfectly embodies the saying, “It isn’t how you start the game, it’s how you finish.”

Dracey Rose, PSC
Darcey made a big impact for her PSC GU13 Premier league team in the month of June. Darcey plays the wing midfield position and is known for her great touch, accurate shot and decision making ability. Darcey can be counted on to score a clutch goal or to support her team on the defensive side. Her positive attitude, calm demeanour, commitment and dedication to the sport make her highly deserving of a player of the month recognition.

Simon Hubley, FAA
Simon had an excellent month for FAA, showcasing his impact as an attacking midfielder who plays a key role in nearly every offensive movement. His intelligent runs, sharp passing, and ability to maintain possession under pressure were crucial to the team’s success. Off the ball, Simon consistently puts in the work defensively, closing players down and setting a strong example for his teammates.

Sophie O’Driscoll, MPSA
Sophie embodies all the qualities of a great teammate - athleticism, sportsmanship, and a consistently positive attitude. She has had an impressive season so far, scoring 9 goals in just 7 games. Sophie leads by example, encouraging her teammates while also stepping outside her own comfort zone to achieve strong results and contribute to her team’s success.

Omomurewa provided a number of goals and assists for his team in the month of June. He is an honest competitor on the field and a true gentleman off it, earning the respect of teammates and coaches alike. Focused and mature beyond his years, Omomurewa’s dedication to the game is unwavering.

Adrienne Shanahan, MPSA
Adrienne continued her scoring ways in June, adding another four goals to bring her season total to eight in just six games. Her dynamic ability and natural scoring touch make her a constant challenge for defenders, as she's a threat to score every time she has the ball.

Xavier Dray, MPSA
Xavier has had a phenomenal month, leading the BU17 Premier League in goals and emerging as a quiet leader both on and off the field. A driving force on the attack, he found the back of the net against every opponent his team faced in June. Xavier’s speed, physicality, and positive attitude make him an invaluable teammate.

Andie Noseworthy, SJSC
Andie is a player who gives everything she has every time she steps on the field. Her playmaking ability stands out, making a consistent and positive impact on the SJSC GU17 Premier League team. In June, she was called up to play four matches with Holy Cross in the Jubilee Trophy League, where she scored two goals.

Emmanuel Dolo has led the offensive charge for Holy Cross in impressive fashion, scoring three goals and adding five assists in June while helping his team climb to first place in the standings with 24 goals as a unit.

Jane Pope, Holy Cross
Jane Pope has been dominant in the Jubilee League this month, recording six goals and assisting teammates eight times. A force on the field and a leader for HC, Jane has made a major impact playing both in the midfield and as a striker.
